Healthy Living ON

Logan Farm

I love simplicity…

In our daily life, this is what we strive for – a healthier simplified way of living, and as we go deeper into this lifestyle of raising and growing our own food and making all natural products for our health and well-being, we realize this is what we always wanted. We are students and teachers at the same time and absolutely love every minute of it!

Hello

Welcome to our farm! Est.2018

We have always grown a lot of our own food and every year we expand to include more delicious vegetables, fruits and herbs. Our property is rich in many different types of trees and greenery , offering up loads of cover for our growing flock of free range hens. And I can’t forget to include one very lovely Roo. Last year we added bees and this year, we will add more. We are planting some lovely additions to our land to help feed our bees and I’m sure the chickens will benefit too – they are the best free loaders, I mean foragers after all!.

What’s happening on the farm….

Different formulations are being created on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I use many of the same oils and butters in my products because I know the benefits and properties of each and how good they are for your skin. My blog "Healthy on the inside" Explains a lot about the different ingredients used.

The hard lotion bars are a great addition to your daily skin care as they are so versatile. They make a great barrier -Rub them on your hands a few times a day to lock in moisture that gets lost from continuously washing and sanitizing.

Last year we started our first bee hive and the honey was excellent! This year we are adding 2 modified langstroth hives and 3 layans hives. I can't wait for this season to begin!!

Our flock of chickens are of a few different breeds. Some well known ones like Leghorns, Road Island Reds, Barred Rock and some lesser known ones - Easter Egger (EE) hens, a few young EE chicks and one very fancy EE Roo named Blue. Our EE ladies lay blue eggs. We are excited to see what the young chicks lay once they are old enough! Maybe pink or olive....

All the Gardens on Logan Farm

I must say, I have been quite negligent of my blog, my site, my FB, even my instagram has not had much attention lately! I don't really feel bad because everyday I am getting so much done and when the day is over - the work day, that is - at pretty much dark or even...

Garden Adventures

There are a few different gardening styles going on here now on Logan Farm. Partly because we are adding to our gardens and partly because we are trying some new methods or should I say modified methods....Last year, we started with some "Back to Eden" gardening....

Healthy on the outside

I have always had an interest in natural health and healing and all things alternative to main stream self-care. Wellness to me is using what nature has provided, and natural skincare is just the basis. Chemicals have become so normal in the every day products that...
